Lauren is the Lab Manager for the Suvorova Lab
My name is Lauren Hawkins and I am the lab manager for Dr. Elena Suvorova. I am from Baltimore Maryland and have lived in Florida since 2007. I began my bachelor’s degree here at USF in 2015 and graduated in 2019 with a degree in cellular and molecular biology. During this time I found myself volunteering in Margaret Park’s breast cancer research lab. Later I was offered a part time position as a lab manager in colleague Dr. Chares Chalfant’s cancer research lab, where I also finished up my credits to graduate. My work in Dr. Chalfant’s and in Dr. Suvorova’s lab has focused mainly on genetics dealing with splicing, down regulation, and cloning.
I am now working towards my master’s degree in biotechnology and hope to be a part of research here at USF for many years to come.
